Panel
Discussion:
IF YOU BUILD IT, WILL THEY COME? ASPIRATIONS
FOR THE NEW ASIAN AMERICAN FILM MOVEMENT
Monday, January 22, 2007
2:30 PM (see location details above)
Asian
Americans are fast becoming a prominent force in film and
television as actors in leading roles, artists behind the
camera and creatives behind the pen. Our community is at
a critical juncture—a new day in the history of Asian
Pacific American Cinema. This interactive discussion seeks
to explore, brainstorm and inspire dialogue about the next
steps necessary in making our burgeoning Asian American
Film Movement viable, robust and sustainable. Join confirmed
panelists Sung Kang (Finishing the Game, The
Motel), Yul Kwon (Survivor: Cook Islands),
Grace Lee (American Zombie), Justin Lin (Finishing
the Game, Better Luck Tomorrow), Suzy Nakamura
(American Zombie) , Dustin Nguyen (Finishing
the Game), Janet Yang (Dark Matter, Year of the
Fish), and moderator Chi-Hui Yang as we kick off our
inaugural panel discussion at Park City 2007.
